Annual Fundraising Event 2022 Honorees:
Roz and Ray Rebeck

After an early career working with abused and neglected children in Toledo, Roz moved to Michigan with her husband Ray. She operated a licensed daycare, with a staff, for infants and toddlers for almost 30 years. Ray has been a self-employed accountant for over 50 years and also worked full time as a pricing specialist for Great Lakes Gas Transmission. Roz and Ray have long been active volunteers in the community and have collected a large group of “friends like family” over the years.

Roz Rebeck has worked with Yad Ezra as a volunteer for 11 and 1/2 years. When Roz retired, she was unable to “do nothing.” A perpetual doer, Roz sought out activities — and ones with meaning. Roz began helping in the warehouse at Yad Ezra, aiding clients through their shopping experience.

It didn’t take long for Roz to feel at home at Yad Ezra. Her volunteer work includes packing produce, taking clients through the warehouse to get their food, handing out meats and dairy, as well as preparing and packing the food distribution for Yad Ezra off-site deliveries, including the Jewish communities in Flint and Ann Arbor, as well as the Kadima homes.

Thanks to volunteers like Roz and Ray we are able to celebrate individuals who not only embody what it means to be volunteer at Yad Ezra, but also individuals who pave the way as leaders in our community.
